Myofascial Release is a highly specialized stretching technique used by therapists to treat patients with a variety of soft tissue problems.
Myofascial Release massage is a technique used to treat injuries and discomfort, reducing pain and increasing range of motion. Myofascial Release massage differs from other types of Massage in that it targets the fascia, the connective tissue that’s surrounds the muscles, rather than the muscle itself.
When muscle fibres are injured, the fibres and the fascia which surrounds it become short and tight. This uneven stress can be transmitted through the fascia to other parts of the body, causing pain and a variety of other symptoms in areas you often wouldn’t expect. Myofascial Release treats these symptoms by releasing the uneven tightness in injured fascia.
Myofascial Release is highly effective in treating patients with the following diagnoses.
- Back, neck and shoulder pain
- Complex pain complaints
- Reduces Stress & increases circulation
- Breaks up scar tissue
- Enhances lymphatic drainage & increases energy flow
- Carpal tunnel syndrome
- Dizziness, vertigo
- Plantar fasciitis
- Trigger points
